Yury trained at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow, Russia, and he holds a Teacher/Choreographer Diploma from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts.
Yury was a principal dancer with the Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre (Artistic Director: A.A. Makarov), and he worked as the choreographer and ballet master for the Temma Ballet School in Osaka, Japan. He also served as the Artistic Director and chief choreographer for Swansea’s Ballet Russe for many years.
Yury is well-known to Cork dancers and ballet aficionados as the regular guest choreographer for the Cork City Ballet. He is married to Prima ballerina – Chika Temma, and together they run the very successful Bristol Russian Ballet School and the Bristol Russian Youth Ballet Company.
He is a regular guest teacher and choreographer with various dance companies all over the world.
